Hygeia HMO Limited, the foremost health maintenance organization in Nigeria has launched new health plans into the Nigerian market place. Hygeia HMO, already reputed for many “firsts” in the HMO sector is once again pushing the quality and benefits of health plans to a new level in Nigeria.
Speaking recently at the launch of these new health plans in Lagos, the Chairman of Hygeia Nigeria HMO Limited Mrs. Fola Laoye stated that it has been Hygeia HMO’s tradition to set the pace in the Managed healthcare sector; from being the first HMO to be registered in Nigeria, to being consistently rated number 1 by international rating agencies including Agusto & Co, she emphasized that the company will always strive to provide the Nigerian public the best in class product while keeping quality of care delivery as its watchword, something she said the Nigerian market desperately yearned for.
The new products launched by Hygeia HMO are Hyprestige plus, HyClassic plus, HyPriority plus and HyEssential plus health plans. Describing the launch of these new products as  remarkable, the CEO of Hygeia HMO limited Mr. Ramesh Kurup explained that the new products being launched was an outcome of a number of enhancements on Hygeia HMO’s current products essentially as an outcome of market insights and Hygeia HMO’s  repositioning to deliver more value to the consumers of its products and services.
Mr. Kurup explained further that the Health plans address the needs of a cross spectrum of customers in the high end, mid level and Basic levels with each plan being differentiated by varying levels of benefits thereby giving the company’s clients and members the option of selecting the plans suited to their particular healthcare needs and/or corporate ambitions. This ensures that everyone can have access to quality and affordable, health care.
He pointed out that the launch of these products could not have come at a better time than a time like this when the Federal government is shifting more focus to the healthcare management sector with the introduction of the Universal Health coverage.
Mr. Ramesh added that despite these added benefits Pricing remains same or below previous rates
Also speaking at the launch of the new health plans, the Executive Director of Nigeria Breweries Mr. Victor Famuyibo said that the initiative by Hygeia HMO was truly commendable given the ever-changing healthcare needs of the Nigerian workforce which was has become a source of concern for HR practitioners.
